The Danielle Sonnenfeld Foundation is committed to supporting the rehabilitation process of women and children residing in the two Bat Melech shelters, located in Jerusalem and central Israel.
The Foundation also assists in renovating the shelter in Jerusalem. The Bat Melech Association was established in 1995 by religious activists providing legal and other assistance to women in distress.
Recognizing the urgent need for physical shelter, protection, emotional and legal support for religious women suffering from physical and emotional abuse by their husbands and facing life-threatening situations, the organization took action.
Today, among its various activities, the association operates two shelters that can accommodate up to 14 women and 60 children simultaneously.
