The Danielle Foundation is an association that was founded in 2015 in order to commemorate the unforgettable Danielle Sonnenfeld OBM. The goal of the association is to spearhead and participate in ventures of action and contribution, thereby spreading the light, love and care that Danielle represented.

Danielle was born in Rio de Janeiro on the 2nd of Adar 5755 (02/02/1955). From the time that she was very young it was obvious that she was very special. Her smile, her love for her fellow man and her love of life captured the hearts of all who knew her.
The prize was created to show appreciation and thanks to the medical staff for their empathy and kindness when dealing with the ill and their families, and to raise awareness of the importance of treating patients with love and care within all medical fields.
